PDF and Document Formatting
Many of our downloadable training booklets, course syllabuses, and policy documents are in non-HTML formats (such as PDF). Some of these documents are not fully accessible because they lack correct document tagging, structured headings, or text alternatives for images. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content) and 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships).
We are actively auditing our document library to replace essential PDFs with fully accessible HTML pages or compliant PDFs.
Third-Party Booking and Interactive Tools
Some interactive calendars or payment forms integrated from third-party platforms do not fully support screen readers or may cause keyboard focus to get stuck. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.1.1 (Keyboard) and 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value). We review our third-party integrations annually and lobby vendors for improved accessibility compliance.
Focus and Visual Contrast
On a small number of custom interactive elements, the visual focus indicator may not be highly visible, or specific design colors may fall slightly below the required 4.5:1 contrast ratio. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 1.4.3 (Contrast (Minimum)) and 2.4.7 (Focus Visible). We are continuously adjusting our style sheets to correct these contrast anomalies.
What We’re Doing to Improve Accessibility
Our web development team conducts quarterly accessibility audits using automated testing tools and manual keyboard navigation checks. We are systematically updating our PDF directory to native HTML webpage formats and working with our neurodiversity training consultants to ensure our design layout remains cognitively accessible and user-friendly for all learners.
